I'd like to congratulate Aaron, a 7th grader who has been with us for several semesters. This past weekend, he competed with the SLJH Debate Club at the Spring High School Spring Fling Middle School Tournament—and won all five of his Public Forum debate rounds.

This achievement is especially impressive given the level of competition. Aaron faced and defeated a team from Lanier, a nationally ranked program that placed 3rd at Nationals last year. Lanier teams benefit from dedicated middle school debate classes built into their school day and have become one of our strongest rivals in Houston.
